Interview Q&A
How long have you been in business?
I started the company in March 2008. However, I've been a professional photographer for quite a few years and got my start in the Commercial Industry. The studio was a long time in the making.
What is your primary product or service?
I toggle between Graphic Design and Photography. Often, my commercial clients choose photography and design packages. Whereas, my individual clients come to me for portraits and weddings. Either way, I'm happy to work on something creative. I truly enjoy both services that JN Studios has to offer.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I was first interested in photography as a child. My father worked for Fox Animation Studios and I remember going to work with him and watching all of the creatives at work. Relaxed, fun, spontaneous. That was what I wanted as an adult. And I wanted to create something real and memorable. By the time that I got to high school, I was completely involved in photography and took every class offered until I eventually taught and tutored freshman on photography techniques. The graphic design portion of the company became an asset when I was in college earning my advertising degree. From there, I learned how important good design was in order to catch a customer's eye. Yet again, it was a creative outlet and I fell in love with it from the start.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
I run all operations with a personal approach. Even though I deal with Marketing Managers and CEOs on a daily basis, I also visit with Brides and Grooms, Seniors getting ready to graduate and young models trying to get their start. With every client, I work with them to make sure that they get exactly what they are looking for. That's my customer satisfaction guarantee.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
I curently work from one location, but I am planning on purchasing a store front in Atlanta in the next few years.
What type of payments do you accept?
I accept cash, major credit cards through Paypal (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express), personal checks and money orders.
Which areas do you service?
I service the entire SouthEast and concentrate in the Atlanta metro areas.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
I run my company from top to bottom. I do have assistants that help from time to time, but I have a hand in every operation. Until I grow to allow for full-time employees, I wil continue this process.
